KINDERGARTEN

Welcome to AGE Kindergarten Class!
Dear Honorable Parents,
Assalamu 'Alaykoom Wa Rahmat Allahy Wa Barakatu,
I am pleased to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year! I am beyond excited to have your child in my class this year for Kindergarten. My name is Ms. Jehan Eltalbwa and I am incredibly blessed to be a part of the AGE team. The opportunity to teach your child is a privilege and a responsibility I take very seriously. I will do my best to motivate, encourage, and appreciate your child and all of the gifts that he or she will bring to the classroom.
I have always wanted to be a teacher for as long as I could remember. This will be my third year teaching Kindergarten at AGE. In previous years, I have gained experience teaching, as well, as I was the Head Teacher at my local youth center for three consecutive years. I was also a Girl Scout Counselor, engaged in leading weekly youth gatherings to foster the love of Islam in the hearts of our young. I believe that all children are individuals and should be taught in a fashion that addresses their individual learning styles and passions as frequently as there is opportunity. I also believe in varied instruction for differing skill levels by allotting extra one on one time for struggling students and allowing more challenging opportunities for advanced students. I am so ready to embrace the diversity within our classroom! Check out AGE KG Gallery
In our classroom, the daily activities are carefully planned to encourage independence, self confidence as well as critical thinking. I will keep you informed of the work your child will be doing, as well as special events going on at our school and in our classroom.
Some of the content taught will be simple addition and subtraction, number recognition, telling time by the hour and half-hour, developing routines, and focusing on social skills. The ultimate goal is to leave kindergarten reading! Ms. Magda will be teaching your child Arabic and Ms. Hanaa will be teaching Qur'an.
Finally, please remember to send your child to school with their REQUIRED uniform attire, supplies, and snacks. We will have snack time every day so don't forget to bring a NUT-free snack and/or drink each day of school!
I feel that open lines of communication between the parent, student, and teacher are the key to promoting an educational climate that is helpful to learning. I am looking forward to building a relationship with you and your child. Together we can make a difference! We will have more to discuss as the school year continues! Please feel free to contact me via email (located below) if you have any further questions. In'shaa Allah, I am looking forward to an adventurous and successful year with your child.
Sincerely,
Ms. Jehan Eltalbwa
